Our story

Tawanna is a boutique family-run resort offering an authentic local-style southern Thai experience within the beautiful - and largely unexplored - natural resources of Phatthalung province. Peacefully nestled among coconut and rubber tree plantations within a traditional organic Thai village, we offer a relaxing and tranquil guest experience in our eco-certified accommodation. With a growing reputation for eco-based tourism, we are also perfectly situated as a base to discover some of Phatthalung's unique UNESCO world heritage and green travel experiences.

Things to do

Phatthalung is regarded as a hidden gem of a province that is developing a strong reputation for eco-based tourism. Within 10 mins of our resort, you can visit stunning local green markets including the popular Pa Phai Sang Suk Market and Lad Tainod Green Market. For the more adventurous, river kayaking and wild swimming in one of our many waterfalls are just a short drive away. However, we are most known for the UNESCO World Heritage listed Thale Noi which is an environmentally protected wetlands home to many migratory birds, water buffalo and a sea of pink lotus flowers that bloom from March until September. Boat tours can be organised for either 1 or 2 hours starting from the sunrise tour at 6 am. If you would like us to help you book a boat trip, simply message us and we can arrange it for you. Most guests leave early and then return for their breakfast. These are just a few of the many local attractions in Phatthalung. If you would like other recommendations please do not hesitate to ask us.

Places to eat

There is a wide range of restaurants a short drive from our resort that offer local, regional, Asian, Western and Halal food options. To experience authentic southern style cuisine you could try Bang Charm or View Yor.  Alternatively, for fusion food with a livelier atmosphere, you could try Larn Ta Chu or Roof 6/6 which has a great view of Khao Ok Thalu mountain - the symbol of Phatthalung. Again, these are just a few of the many restaurants in our local area. If you would like other recommendations please do not hesitate to ask.
